Ayden Dobbels, a first-year MATC student in the diesel program from Blanchard, competed in the Oklahoma Super Tech Skills Competition put on by the Oklahoma Trucking Association at Francis Tuttle Tech Center’s Reno Campus on May 10th.
Dobbels placed third in the Oklahoma Future Tech Skills competition, which is the student division. The competition is limited to 24 professional technicians and career tech students. Participants rotate through a series of hands-on workstations plus a written test. This competition is unique in that students compete alongside professional technicians but are scored separately.
For his efforts, Dobbels was awarded tools and gift certificates. In addition to the participants, representatives from numerous academic state institutions were present.
